An initiative set up in Derry~LondonDerry to regenerate the City Centre

'watch this SPACE' is an initiative set up in Derry~LondonDerry to regenerate the City Centre by bringing short and medium term uses into vacant spaces, with the view to securing long term leases. The high levels of vacancy not only have a detrimental effect on the physical image of the streets, but also on the economic success of the existing businesses. By bringing these units back into use it will help drive footfall, complement the existing retail offer and reinvigorate the City's streets.

Aim of 'watch this SPACE'

The aim is to bring cultural uses, community and charitable groups into these empty properties. It is hoped that the new uses will stimulate the wider interest in the City Centre, ideas about what the City Centre should offer, drive day and night time visitors and help animate our streets. The project is about Derry~Londonderry, its people, its culture, the built environment and connecting all of these.

Do you own a property in the City Centre?

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from owners of property within the core commercial area of Derry~Londonderry City Centre, who would be interested in participating in 'watch this SPACE' meanwhile use scheme. The scheme aims to reanimate empty properties with short term projects.

We are particularly keen to hear from owners of properties with the Historic Walled City, Streets with high vacancy levels such as Carlisle Road and Spencer Road.
